💼 The Case

<aside> đź’ˇ I received a unique edition of the case. It does not feature the hole pattern in the front. I wanted it to be that way. Thanks again SammyXXM for making this possible.

Packaging

The case comes in a simple brown box and is wrapped in plastic. A bag of screws for MB and 2x2.5 drives is taped to it. Also in the package are 2 rubber strips for the stand. The case is held in place by 3 pieces of foam. The stainless steep frame is extra protected with foil. All in all I think the packaging is good enough and I like that it is so simple because why spend money on fancy packaging?

Build Quality

The stainless steel frame is solid and the brushed look is great. However I would have liked the edges to be chamfered, giving the case a more premium look and finish. There are a few scratches that are visible when light shines onto the case.

My biggest dissapointment with the frame is that it is not flat. The whole case wobbles when standing vertically, power button up. When I flip the case it does not wobble. I also had to unscrew the 2 bottom screws at the back to disconnect the frame from the internals to be able to shift the internals to be centered in the frame. The bottom right corner was almost flush with the frame, making the sidepanel sit “outside” the case. Also on the front, the frame bows away from the internal structure.

On the inside the steel has some minor stains but they will not be visible in the end. I appreciate the countersunk screwholes, happy to see this attention to detail.

The internal structure is very solid and sturdy, relly well done. I didn’t find any issues there. Also here, every screwhole is countersunk. Nice! Some of the magnets for the sidepanels are thicker than others, they are not flush with the steel. The cutouts don’t have sharp edges. The black painting is nicely done and there are no dents or scratches anywhere.

During unboxing I quickly noticed how flimsy the sidepanels are. The structure is made out of plastic (due to manufacturing reasons) and the fabric is only fixated to it along all sides but not anywhere else. Might be nice to glue it to the bigger parts of the structure too. Though even if it was, I wouldn’t be sure if the whole thing would be more stable. On the inside there are thin metal discs glued to the structure which attach to the magnets of the case. The glue is not holding up properly and many discs have already come off.

Another thing that I don’t quite like is the design of the support structure of the sidepanels. The fabric is quite see-through and makes the asymetric design of the structure visible. I would have preferred a more uniform pattern in the structure. Once the case is filled with hardware, this is a ot less obvious and not a big issue for me.

A really great design choice is the big cutout for the back of the mainboard. It allows for easy access to any rear mounted M.2 drive!
